About SEU

The SEU Hub has come about due to the unexpected and completely unnecessary closure of the SEU group by the Facebook algorithm in July 2021. One member used a funny Monty Python quotation in a comment and the FB robot disabled the site for a breach of social policy – 400,000 members became 0! All of the fantastic and hilarious content that had been created over the previous two years was lost forever.

This new Hub is under our control and cannot be taken down by a computer algorithm, so we can have the confidence to be ourselves and express ourselves without fear of closure.

We wanted to create a better and more suitable platform, somewhere that we could ensure that we had the ability to cover everything that makes us lot tick and hopefully where we can harness the power of the size of the group to benefit all of us and, critically, to focus our charitable activity. Together, over the past three years, we have raised over £50,000 for equestrian charities and we are dedicated to doing so much more.
